How Aromatherapy, Meditation, Sound, and Reiki Nurture Your Mind, Body, and Spirit

At Ascension Pilates & Wellness, we believe true well-being goes beyond just physical movement. Holistic practices help us reconnect with ourselves on every level—physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. On Saturday, August 30th, we invite you to experience this connection through a special community event that blends aromatherapy, guided meditation, sound healing, and Reiki.


Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll experience that evening:


Aromatherapy: Awakening the Senses

For thousands of years, essential oils have been used in healing traditions to calm the mind, balance energy, and restore harmony in the body. At our event, we’ll begin with aromatherapy to awaken your senses and create a grounding foundation for the rest of the evening. In addition to diffusing therapeutic blends into the event space, we’ll also offer a selection of oils that you’ll be invited to smell and use topically—giving you a personalized wellness experience to begin your journey.


Guided Meditation: Connecting Breath and Body

With your senses awakened, we’ll move into guided meditation—a practice used for thousands of years to cultivate mindfulness and presence. Meditation has deep roots in ancient traditions, offering a pathway to stillness and clarity. At Ascension Pilates, we always begin our classes by checking in with the breath, and this event will be no different. You’ll be guided into a gentle meditation, using your breath as an anchor to quiet the mind, release tension, and connect more deeply with your body and spirit. This sets the tone for the sound journey to come.


Sound Healing: Deepening Relaxation

Sound healing is one of the most profound ways to bring the body into balance. Instruments like crystal bowls, drums and chimes create rhythmic vibrations that release tension and guide you into deep relaxation. During this event, you’ll also experience the resonance of tuning forks, offering a gentle frequency reset. Together, these sounds create a safe and soothing environment where stress dissolves and inner peace emerges.


Reiki: Restoring Energy Flow

As the sounds fade into the background, a gentle Reiki session will help restore balance to your body’s energy flow. Reiki is a Japanese practice that channels universal life energy through light touch or hands placed just above the body. Reiki helps clear energetic blockages, supporting your body’s natural ability to heal and leaving you with a renewed sense of balance and calm.


We’ll return to the singing bowls for a final immersion in sound, giving your mind and body space to integrate the evening’s experiences. This closing sound bath acts like a seal—locking in the relaxation, clarity, and lightness you’ve cultivated throughout the night.
